Your Christmas dinner was perfect for the prompt--it's like Gary threw you a bone, because you already knew you were headed here a week ago!
That may also be why the prompt didn't do much for me. I associate it with the side-dishes and such for Thanksgiving, and I really don't like gravy or sweet potatoes/yams or stuffing, so I always kind of dreaded those meals. Some years, all there was for me to eat was turkey, cranberry relish, and maybe some olives. :O
I loved Herb's recounting of Anne's schoolyard tirade (well-deserved!), and I'm glad he remembers it in a good way and learned such a useful lesson from it.
