I've always been a medical skeptic, and am frankly amazed at the almost god-like status some doctors enjoy. Yes, there are some good ones out there, but in my experience they're very difficult to find.
I'm by and large pretty healthy, except for moderately high blood pressure and the non-functional eyeballs, but I've watched my wife struggle with various issues related to diabetes, so can relate a small bit to what you've written here.
If I may ask, why do you think moving to the lower level where you lived made such a drastic difference? Was it maybe the enforced exercise, up and down all the time, or something else?
Thank you for writing about this, a very personal tie in to the prompt!
