So, <user name="bleodswean"> has been talking about True Detective for a while and I was curious.  It rang a bell for me, so when I signed up for HBO so I'll be all caught up with Game of Thrones when it starts next month I thought I'd watch the series.  Based on her recommendations I watched season one, then season three, then finally season two.  Honestly, that's how they should have released the seasons.  Seasons one and three are similar in tone and story, season two is a bit out there, off thread so to speak.  Of the three seasons, three moved me the most.  A very touching story for a myriad of reasons, at least one of them very personal.  Season one was shocking, completely mess with your head shocking.  Season two, complicated.  The main characters of all three seasons are deeply flawed, troubled, and self-destructive, the perfect anti-anti-anti-heroes, but with at least one redeeming characteristic.  If moral relativism is your thing, this is this is your series.  I binged-watched it over about three days and it was worth the time and the money.  If you're like me and can just turn off the part of your brain that is affected by violence and gore, you're good to go.  The acting is phenomenal.  I'm not a big fan of any of the "names" that made up the cast, but each one gave a fantastic performance, nuanced and weighted.  Farrell slipped up a couple of times with the Irish accent creeping in, especially in emotional scenes, but he stood up with the rest.  A surprise for me was Vaughn.  I know who he is, but can't recall exactly what I've seen him in before, but he really delivered.  Another big surprise for me was McConaughey.  I was very impressed.  Another actor I was unfamiliar with who really came through was Mahershala Ali, I recognized his face, but if he hadn't just won best supporting actor I wouldn't have known who he was.  He was fantastic.  I could go on talking about the series, but will wrap up by saying I highly recommend it.  If you haven't watched, it, do.  Thanks, <user name="bleodswean">!

I've not been around much.  More when I first dropped out of Idol, but then things got progressively difficult and my online time was short except for YouTube time.  I can do that in bed with my laptop.  Not stressful or too exhausting.  I've been out twice for groceries.  That's a three or four day process as I need to rest for a day first, go, then it's right back to bed and resting and sleeping.  I can manage to stay up for a few hours at a time, mainly around mealtimes, but then it's back to bed for hours.  It's best for me if I don't do anything more taxing that dishes.  I'm keeping up with them really well, actually.  But, then, how many can I create when I'm like this?  You'd be surprised, especially if i let them pile up.

Talking on the phone still presents a big problem for me.  Had two long phone calls early in the week and I ended up being in bed for two days, exhausted and sleeping round the clock.  So, no matter how much I want to talk, no matter how much the person means to me or how much I enjoy talking with them, thirty minutes is the magic number.  Actually, less than thirty is best.  But thirty is the max.

On YouTube I've been really enjoying the Living on a Dime videos.  Am already incorporating some of their ideas.

Time to eat and go back to bed.

Hope you are all doing well and surviving our weird, weird weather.  <3

So glad you enjoyed True Detective! I'm still processing Season 3. I was disappointed with the finale. But yes, the acting and the buildup are just glorious things! And the symbolism and imagery!!!! You know, of course, that I fic'ed S1 LOL -

I'm sorry to hear how much of a struggle you are currently mired in, M. That's truly terrible. I sure wish we lived closer.

I'm struggling with five Idol prompts. -____-
