Sick and Stuff
So yeah, the crash. Same old, same old. Stopped pushing and that was great. Took a week of Idol, two off church, and picked up a bug from the cab driver coming home from my hearing-aid appointment on Wednesday. Can I just have a little rant about people who don't cover their mouths and noses when they cough or sneeze--ARGH!
Shetland! If you haven't watched this series on Netflix, do. I mean really. You can watch it with subtitles if your squeamish about Scottish accents, though they're really not that bad, one or two actors from a few episodes take it a bit too far--show-offs!--mostly though it's a gently burred BBC accent.
What I love about British detective shows is they're not sensationalistic, they're not gross or gruesome, and they're not fraught with over-the-top psychological perversions. And because this one is set in the Shetlands the scenery is gorgeous. And because I've been watching it pretty much non-stop for the past few days my Scottish accent has returned a bit. Every now and then I'll catch mysel' saying something with a wee bit more emphasis on the "R's" and lifting the lilt here and there.
I've also been watching Non-Stop Dan and some of the other Luxury flight shows on YouTube. I had no idea you could actually get a suite, or "apartment" on a flight. Love it! When I win the lottery I'm definitely flying that way. I love the privacy and the pampering. I'm not really one to want to be chatting with random people. That's why I always have a book in my purse. Exchanging a few words is one thing, hearing about your aunt's hernia, and your uncle's issues with phlegm is altogether different. I'm just not that sympathetic. Love watching the luxury resort videos, too. Oh my, how the other half lives.
Okay, off to take my meds and watch more Shetland. ;-)

I would drive you nuts! 😆I can talk incessantly if I'm nervous. Other than that, we're good! I usually bring my kindle everywhere. has games and my downloaded books I can play without wifi.

Sorry to hear about a crash, M. It's good to take time off. Sometimes crashing is necessary for a human reboot.

I'm all about Scotland right now. Watched Outlaw King about Robert the Bruce. All I ever knew about him was the spider legend. Learned that in school in Glasgow. When I get through this Scottish phase I'll check out Hinterland. :-)
